You’ve heard it before:
“People need to see your offer 7 times before they buy.”
But here’s what most people get wrong:
Reposting your offer 7 times in your feed doesn’t build trust.
It builds resistance.
The Rule of 7 isn’t about repetition.
It’s about strategic variety.
There are 7 different types of trust-building content. Each one plays a unique role in moving someone from cold to curious to ready-to-buy.
Here they are:
Story – People trust people. Telling real stories (about you, a customer, or even a moment that changed your thinking) humanizes your brand.
Data – Facts and insights help buyers feel informed, not sold to.
Offer – You do need to tell people what you’re selling—just not every single day.
Social proof – Reviews, testimonials, screenshots, and “others like me” moments help people feel safe buying.
Conversation – Questions. Polls. Open loops. The stuff that gets people to talk with you.
Behind-the-scenes – What it really looks like to do the work, build the product, or serve the client.
Value drop – Teach. Share. Give something genuinely useful without asking for anything in return.
When you rotate through these intentionally—your message doesn’t get stale.
It gets stronger.
💬 Think you’ve “already posted about it enough”?
Check your mix.
If your content is stuck in just 1 or 2 of these buckets (usually offer and value)... it’s no wonder people aren’t converting yet.
They might not need another CTA.
They might just need a different kind of trust.
